| Kerala State Wide Area Network (KSWAN) |
As a part of the KSWAN, Govt. of Kerala plans to extend the SWAN Network to all the 14 District Headquarters (DHQs) and 152 Block Headquarters (BHQs). All the 14 DHQs are proposed to be connected to the nearest NOC of the State Information Infrastructure with 2 Mbps leased line connectivity from BSNL. In addition, the 152 BHQs are to be networked to the concerned DHQs with 2 Mbps Leased Lines from BSNL. Further Local Offices will be linked to the nearest DHQ or BHQ to achieve connectivity to the KSWAN.
Wireless connectivity
At each DHQ and BHQ a Wireless Base Station is to be provided so as to be able to connect 60 remotes to it within a radius of 10 Kms.
At each DHQ and BHQ 10 wireless remotes are to be provided.
Further, at each DHQ one Channelised E1 and one ISDN PRI is to be provisioned for enabling horizontal connectivity through Leased or Dial up Lines. At each BHQ one Channelised E1 is to be provisioned for enabling horizontal connectivity through Leased Lines.
The scope includes enhancing the existing NOCs and establishing the Super POPs at District Headquarters and POPs at Block Headquarters, establishing the wireless remotes, support of all the existing and future applications, Operations & Maintenance of the KSWAN for 5 years from the date of final acceptance and providing Training and Documentation.
The Project is to be implemented in two phases.
